People & future talent

Creating meaningful pathways into the world of work.

The future workforce is already growing up around us. Accendora works with organisations to create meaningful opportunities for young people to see, experience and understand the world of work, while helping employers think differently about how they engage future talent.

The premise

Access to a workplace is not the same thing as an experience of work.

The difference is design. A meaningful experience has a purpose, an owner and a connection to what happens next and it is safeguarded and age-appropriate from the outset. That is the work Accendora does: turning employer goodwill and education ambition into something structured enough to be repeated, evaluated and improved.

  1. Discover
  2. Design
  3. Deliver
  4. Develop

What this can include

Seven connected areas of work.

Engagements are usually a combination rather than a single item each area strengthens the others.

01

School & FE bridge building

Connecting schools, colleges and training providers directly with progressive employers to build long-term talent pathways rather than one-off contact.

  • Brokered, purposeful introductions between education and employers
  • Shared expectations, roles and points of contact on both sides
  • Pathways designed to last beyond a single cohort or academic year

02

Safeguarded work exposure & mentorship design

Structuring career experiences, workplace visits and mentorship models that are fully safeguarded, risk-managed and age-appropriate for school-aged young people.

  • Safeguarding and risk management designed in from the start
  • Age-appropriate activity, supervision and boundaries
  • Mentorship models with clear purpose, structure and duration

03

Career insight experiences

Giving young people structured exposure to real organisations, roles, sectors and working environments so that ideas about work are grounded in something they have actually seen.

  • Exposure to real roles, teams and working environments
  • Sector and route awareness beyond the obvious job titles
  • Experiences framed so young people can make sense of them

04

Employer engagement

Helping organisations translate their expertise, culture and workplace into meaningful experiences for young people without creating an unmanageable burden on teams.

  • Turning technical expertise into something a young person can engage with
  • Practical models that fit around operational reality
  • Internal ownership, so engagement does not rest on one enthusiast

05

Work experience & early talent

Designing structured opportunities that go beyond simply having a student in the workplace, with intent, ownership and outcome defined before anyone arrives.

  • Defined purpose, tasks and supervision for every placement
  • Progression-aware design, from insight through to early talent routes
  • A consistent experience that can be repeated and improved

06

Skills & progression

Connecting early experiences directly to the confidence, soft skills and practical next steps young people need in order to move forward.

  • Explicit links between activity and the skills being developed
  • Reflection and articulation, so young people can evidence it
  • Clear next steps rather than an experience that ends in a vacuum

07

Strategic partnerships

Connecting employers, schools, FE colleges and community stakeholders to build collaborative, sustainable talent ecosystems rather than isolated initiatives.

  • Multi-party arrangements with shared purpose and governance
  • Coordination across organisations with different drivers
  • Sustainability designed in, not dependent on goodwill alone

The distinction that matters

Structured and purposeful, rather than simply available.

Meaningful experiences are connected to skills and progression. Anything less is activity without outcome and young people can tell the difference.

Not this

  • A young person placed in a workplace with no defined purpose
  • A one-off visit that is never connected to anything else
  • Activity that depends entirely on one enthusiastic member of staff
  • An experience nobody helps the young person make sense of afterwards
  • Safeguarding considered late, or assumed to be somebody else's job

This

  • A defined purpose, agreed before the young person arrives
  • An experience that connects to skills, confidence and a next step
  • Internal ownership, so the activity survives a change of personnel
  • Structured reflection, so young people can articulate what they gained
  • Safeguarding, risk management and age-appropriateness designed in from the start

Non-negotiable

Safeguarded by design, not by exception.

Work with school-aged young people carries responsibilities that cannot be retro-fitted. Accendora designs career experiences, workplace visits and mentorship models so that safeguarding, risk management and age-appropriateness are built into the structure of the activity supervision, boundaries, expectations and escalation understood by everyone involved before anything begins.

Designing for safeguarding is also what makes an experience repeatable. Employers engage more confidently when the structure around a young person is clear.

For employers

Engage future talent without overwhelming your teams.

Employers rarely lack goodwill towards young people they lack a workable model. Accendora helps translate what an organisation actually does into experiences young people can engage with, sized to fit operational reality and owned properly inside the business.

  • A model proportionate to your capacity and sector
  • Clear internal roles, so engagement is not one person's side project
  • Safeguarded, age-appropriate activity you can stand behind
  • A route from early insight through to early talent pipelines

For schools, colleges & providers

Employer engagement that lasts longer than one cohort.

Education organisations need employer relationships that are dependable, not opportunistic. Accendora helps build the bridges between education and employers with shared expectations, defined points of contact and a structure designed to continue beyond a single academic year.

  • Purposeful introductions rather than cold outreach
  • Shared expectations and defined roles on both sides
  • Experiences mapped to skills, curriculum intent and progression
  • Partnerships built to be sustainable, not personality-dependent

Where it leads

Experience is only valuable if a young person can use it.

Accendora connects early experiences to the confidence, soft skills and practical next steps young people need and builds in the reflection that lets them explain what they did and what they learned. For employers, the same structure produces a clearer view of emerging talent and a route that can be developed over time.
